I haven’t left my house in eight weeks, and it’s really not that bad.
The last time I left my house was March 11th. I participated in a spring break seminar with the Buckley Program. It ended the afternoon of March 11th.
When I got in my car at the seminar’s end, I did not expect it would be the last time I drove my car the rest of the semester. I still haven’t been back in my vehicle.
I Haven’t Been Out of My House in Eight Weeks
At this point, I haven’t been out of my house in eight weeks, and I’m actually finding it quite lovely. I have large amounts of time to get work done as I try to wrap up the semester here at Yale. It’s easy to forget how much time I lose to commuting every day.
The best part is, nobody pressures me to go anywhere. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. For the first time in my life, my government is actually urging me to do something that I want to do: stay home.
Watching My Children Grow
Everyone is coping in various ways. My daughter, for example, has taken to making cooking videos. I posted her first one earlier. Her second one is above.
It’s incredible to me how much she’s grown and what a smart young lady she is becoming. I enjoy seeing her take the initiative to come up with her own ideas and do projects she enjoys. I hope that she continues with that.
There is so much that I can see as we are all stuck in the house together. I have my family and my cigars. That’s really all that I need.
I haven’t left my house in eight weeks, and I wouldn’t mind if I couldn’t leave for eight more. I know that a lot of people are having a difficult time right now, but, for me, this has been a special time with my children that I will always cherish.
